Boosé advertised cornets of this design in the Musical World of July 28 and August 11, 1855, as C. Boosé’s “New Patent Model” for the price of seven Guineas. The German-born Carl Boosé was employed as band music editor and wind instrument tester by the London firm Boosey & Sons. According to the address given in the signature, this instrument was made between 1857 and 1864.
