The serial number indicates that this trumpet was made shortly after Domenick Calicchio’s death in 1979. It combines a very large bell #3 for dark wide tone with leadpipe #2 for an open, free-blowing brilliant sound. This trumpet is a typical example of Calicchio’s flexibile custom-made instruments, a concept that was continued by the firm after the founder's death.
