DescriptionTransverse bamboo flute with end caps wrapped in rattan. Interior lacquered red, as is commonly found in flutes of this type made in and after the late 19th century. Shinobue are typically used to accompany performances of the traditional Japanese kabuki theater and are the flutes of choice for Japanese folk music.
