DescriptionBrass, mother-of-pearl finger buttons, double loop, main tuning slide with "invisible" quick-change to A at second bow, high pitch / low pitch tuning slide at third bow, fixed leadpipe, three Périnet valves (1, ½, 1½), top-sprung, spring inside hollow stem, alignment by three unequal lugs on spring anchor plate, pistons nickel silver, single water key at first bow, windway 3-2-1.
Alternative high- and low-pitch second slide.
The “invisible quick-change to A” at the main tuning slide consists of two-part inner moving slides with a longer thinner and a shorter thicker segment. When the main tuning slide is pulled out, the thicker segment is stopped by rings screwed to the ends of the slide receivers. Fine-tuning is achieved by screwing the rings further in or out.
Serial number is slightly higher than one found on a presentation cornet from 1911 (serial number 94639, given to Rough Lea Colliery, Silver Band, 1911).
