DescriptionBrass, red lacquer, no tuning slide; bell engraved in zigzag-line style with a depiction of Mount Fuji and large waves (around the circumference of the bell); the engraving reveals the brass color underneath.

Jupiter calls this model 314L “mini-trombone.” In the key of 4½-ft B-flat, it is pitched exactly one octave higher than a tenor trombone and uses a trumpet mouthpiece.

The engraving was commissioned by Joe Utley and is inspired by the famous woodcut "The Great Wave" by Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849).
