The Getzen “Eterna” line was first introduced in 1963, and revised in 1985 as “Eterna II.” The present instrument seems to be a member of the first line, just before the company switched to the second line. The so-called Amado water key was developed by the Getzen Company in August 1970. Its purpose was to remove bore irregularity caused by the cavity of the water tap (between cork and tubing) of a normal water key. In the Amado water key this tap is replaced with a conical outlet with sucking effect, so the fluid inside can drain automatically when a little push-button is pressed.
