DescriptionLacquered brass with nickel-silver ferrules and slides, mother-of-pearl finger buttons, double loop, main tuning slide at second bow, fixed leadpipe, three Périnet valves (1, ½, 1½), top-sprung, spring outside hollow stem, alignment by one lug on plastic spring-anchor plate, aluminium pistons, single water keys at first bow and third-valve slide, windway 3-2-1

The Boosey & Hawkes instrument books (Horniman Museum, London) this cornet was charged to Regent Street, where Boosey & Hawkes worked from 1930 onwards, on November 27, 1963; it was charged out on March 17, 1964. It is "Model 1156 LP LAC2-20 U-S.A.” and “Batch of 50 (379198-247) given out 27 Nov 1963; charged out 17 Mar 1964.” This refers to lacquered, low pitch (a' = 440 Hz pitch) and model 2-20 for the U.S. market.
