DescriptionSilver-plated brass, straight, two parts (leadpipe/valve segment; separate bell), bell tuning slide with ligature screw, three Périnet valves (1, ½, 1½), bottom-sprung, alignment by one key on brass pistons, windway 1-2-3.

Used together with NM 6965 by the 1st Battalion of the Coldstream Guards in Britain.

This type of Fanfare trumpet is in use to the present day in the Coldstream Guards, one of the British Royal Regiments. It is played as a solo and ensemble instrument with up to twelve trumpeters and percussion in parades for occasions, such as Royal Weddings, Coronations, Royal Galas, and similar events.

Chappell & Co. was an important wind instrument dealer, music publisher, concert agent and pianoforte manufacturer. The company operated at 50 New Bond Street from 1854 until after 1950 (the building burned down in 1964).
