DescriptionBrass, German silver (valve parts, ferrules, finger hook, pull ring and knob), straight, detachable bell with tuning slide and ligature screw, four mechanical-linkage rotary valves lowering the pitch by a whole tone, semitone, minor third, and fourth, horseshoe stop, coil-spring return, windway 1-2-3-4.
Principally, the same model as NMM 7186 in the less decorative style of the 1970s. The short tube section is soldered obliquely to the main tubing and fourth valve loop is open at both ends, not part of the active tubing. It was likely intended for holding and balancing the straight instrument.
