DescriptionTransverse bamboo flute wrapped in lacquered bark strips. Interior lacquered red. Seven finger holes and enlarged embouchure hole, which facilitates the manipulation of pitch for ornamentation in performance. Its name literally means "dragon flute." Embroidered decoration embedded into left end of flute. Silk-brocade pouch in blue, purple, pink, and tan. Used in the performance of Japanese court music (gagaku).
