Description5 sections: barrel, top joint, middle joint, bottom joint, bell. Simple system; 6 brass keys with square, flat covers, mounted in blocks, with springs attached to keys; boxwood body; ivory ferrules; sixth key is a A/B trill; cocus (?) mouthpiece with long tenon.

George Wood was the son of the skilled woodwind maker James Wood, who partnered with Goulding & Co. He worked in the business with his father from about 1821-1831, and independently from about 1832-1837, and was finally succeeded by Wood & Ivy in 1839.
