According to David Payne, boomerang harmonicas in Australia are the result of a partnership between Albert's Music Store and the German manufacturer. While Albert's experimented with a boomerang harmonica in the 1890s, it was not until the collaboration with Seydel Söhne after World War I that the product line became popular.
