DescriptionBrass, German silver, single loop, tuning slide at first bow, three rotary valves (½, 1, 1½), horseshoe stop, clock-spring return, regulating gear.
Konrad Weidlich’s shop was founded in 1884 and flourished at least until 1930, according to listings in Paul de Wit’s "Welt-Adressbuch der Musikinstrumentenindustrie." Weidlich was active as a wind instrument maker (primarily of brass instruments) and a dealer of pianos, reed organs, and other musical instruments. This trumpet has the semitone at the first valve and the whole tone at the second; this reversed valve order was common in Bavaria until the early twentieth century.
