Description4 sections: barrel, top joint, bottom joint, bell. Simple system. 5 brass keys with domed, round covers, mounted in rings and blocks, with springs attached to keys; boxwood body; horn ferrules; wooden mouthpiece.

ProvenanceLikely, originally owned by Henry Meyrose (1803-1889) of Hanover, Germany, who lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While details of his immigration are yet unknown, his wife, Agnes Meyrose, née Burger, arrived in 1832. The couple had their first child in Milwaukee (1836), indicating residency in the United States by that time.

Purportedly, previously owned by Arthur Fiedler, famed conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
