DescriptionBrass, single loop, upright bell, telescopic tuning slide with gear at leadpipe, three top-action string-operated rotary valves (1, ½, 1½), stop arm, spiral-spring return.
The style of the braces may indicate Saxon origin. Similar bell-up E-flat sopranos were offered by various New York firms, such as Moses Slater and the Martin Brothers in catalogs of the 1870s.
