DescriptionSolid silver; conical tubing in four coils; garland with serrated and perforated upper edge with stamped dots; Nuremberg rim; ferrule with engraved rings and stripes, stamped with stars, and serration similar to garland.
Copy of a "Jägertrompete" by Valentin Springer, Dresden (X 476 in the arms and armor collection [Rüstkammer] in Dresden). It has been speculated that the Jäger Trommet on plate VIII in "Theatrum Instrumentorum" (1620) by Michael Praetorius may have been based on this coiled instrument by Valentin Springer.
