DescriptionSingle-action pedal harp with Erard’s patent fourchettes. Compass EEb to c4, 41 strings. Five oval holes in the back; evidently there was never a swell pedal. Grecian-style decoration of the earlier type with ram’s heads at the top of the column (rather than the caryatids used later); the column’s base, capital, and flutes are gilded, as is the base of the instrument. Rounded back of plain wood, painted dark tan with narrow black lines at the edges; the wooden surfaces of the neck painted similarly. A thin black line borders the soundboard.
