DescriptionThe company that made this banjo-ukulele was the A. Schoenhut Company (rather than Liberty A. Schoenhut Company) through 1935. It went bankrupt and was reorganized as the Schoenhut Manufacturing Company to make toy pianos in 1935. It merged with O. Schoenhut Inc. in 1941. It was bought out by Jaymar Specialty Company (O. Schoenhut Inc. continued to be used) in 1971. It was renamed the Schoenhut Piano Company in 1997.
