DescriptionRed brass (body), yellow brass (garland); double coiled; garland with straight upper edge and no decoration; Saxon rim; tuning slide at receiver.
The instrument is slightly conical, with no cylindrical sections. Variations in the tarnish indicate that it was once wrapped with binding in the lower half of the coil and part of the bell, a feature characteristic of post horns.
