DescriptionTop: two-piece, quarter-cut spruce: very fine grain broadening toward the flanks
Back: two-piece, quarter-cut maple: prominent narrow curl descending from center joint; large notches at back button, curved slightly toward center of button
Ribs: quarter-cut maple: prominent, narrow curl, angled to right on bass side, angled to left on treble side
Head and neck: maple: prominent, narrow curl; deeply carved scroll volutes; inside of pegbox varnished dark red
Arching: full arching at center bouts
Edging: prominent, narrow, rounded edges
Purfling: wide center strip
Varnish: medium red with slight craquelure; artificial antiquing comprised of varnish chips and dents
Fingerboard: ebony; probably later
Nut: ebony; probably later
Tailpiece: rosewood; tulip-shaped with rounded lower end; brass saddle; brass shield inlaid on face; later
