Description4 sections: barrel, top joint, bottom joint, bell. Full-Boehm system; 20 keys, 7 rings; Grenadilla wood body; nickel-silver keys, rings, ferrules; third tonehole ring for forked e-flat/b-flat; vent hole between second and third left-hand finger rings under alternate e-flat/b-flat key for intonation; bottom tenon has tonehole for the articulated c-sharp/g-sharp key; articulated c-sharp/g-sharp key with right-hand banana key between first and second right-hand finger rings for trill; alternate a-flat/e-flat key for left-hand little finger; extended range low e-flat key with elongated body.

ProvenancePreviously owned and used by donor's mother, Joyce Beck. She was given the clarinet as a present in 1947 by her grandparents, who bought it from a music store in Sioux City, Iowa. Beck was then a Junior at Tyndall High School, Tyndall, South Dakota (now known as Bon Homme High School). She played it for the last time in 1997.
