Ribs: quarter-cut maple: plain; corners chamfered on each side
Head and neck: maple: prominent ray flecks
Edging: edges chamfered after varnish applied
Varnish: dark brown; shaded; later shellac overvarnish
Fingerboard: black-stained dark tropical hardwood; end of fingerboard sawed off and reattached; small maple wedge under fingerboard to raise height
