DescriptionHammered dulcimer with 56 strings (14 courses of 4). 2 bridges with a unique circular system with some strings going through the circular holes in the bridge and some resting on top of the bridge. Instrument itself is trapezoidal in shape, but triangle shaped pieces of wood are added to the top corners so the body of the instrument is rectangular. Either missing its case lid or never had one. The sounding board is painted blue with red paper strips on it with Chinese characters. The two sound holes are painted green with a gold character in a circle laid over top.
