DescriptionThe Liberty model began to appear ca. 1921. The Liberty Model No. 1 differs from Model No. 2 in that the latter has more of an Art Deco style, especially in the "X"-shaped brace. Although Sterling Silver bells were available at this time, the present instrument does not have such a bell. Rather, it features the Finish II (see below), because Sterling Silver bells should have [£] stamped on the bellpipe.

Finish II: Heavily silver plated, satin finish, bell richly engraved, with the inside of bell gold plated. Ferrules, valve caps, water keys, points, engraving and inside of bell hand burnished. Mother of pearl inlaid finger tips. (taken from King Band Instruments catalog).

Brass; with silver-plated, satin finish. Burnished point. Gold wash bell interior. Three, top-sprung Perinet piston valves. Mother-of-pearl touchpieces.
