DescriptionThe “Centennial” family of mllitary brass instrments, which ergonomically distribute their weight evenly over both of the player's shoulders, was patented in 1875. Although specifically designed for and introduced at the nation's Centennial Exposition in 1876, the Philadelpia maker continued to produce this bell-front model at least through ca. 1902, when he exhibited it at yet another exposition. Several sizes of this model were produced, including alto, tenor, baritone, and bass sizes.
