Description4 sections: barrel, top joint, bottom joint, bell. Boehm system; "Violin Finish" pressed wood laminate; nickel-silver keys, rings, ferrules. Laminate, at one time guarenteed to not crack, check or split.. Evidently a bad batch of this material was used to produce clarinets so instead of being unbreakable, the clarinets cracked, thus gaining a bad reputation.
