Head: slotted; mahogany with thick, narrowly curled koa veneer layered over thinner ebony veneer; integral with neck
Neck: mahogany; integral with head; painted black
Heel cap: ebony
Binding: ebony; three-ply black, light, black hardwood strip trim on top
Fretboard: ebony; 14 nickel-silver frets; beveled corners at lower end
Nut: bone
Bridge: rosewood; bone saddle; strings pass through holes in bridge into top without bridge pins
Tuners: two sets of tuners with decoratively stamped nickel-plated steel plates, nickel-plated steel rollers and ivory plastic heads
