DescriptionTop: two-piece, quarter-cut spruce: medium and fine grain; one locating pin on the bass side of the center joint through the top into bottom block
Back: two-piece maple, quarter cut in upper gradually changing to slab cut in lower bout narrow horizontal curl in upper bout changing gradually to broad irregular curl descending center in the lower bout; two locating pins each in either side of the center seam in the top and bottom block; two additional locating pins in the button [possibly later], later ebony crown over button
Ribs: quarter-cut maple: faint narrow curl
Head and neck: maple: plain, inside of pegbox stained dark red, line scribed to give the appearance of a neck graft, corners chamfered,
Arching: low and flat
Edging: very minor scoop with rounded edges
Purfling: wood, 2 mm wide, inconsistent component thicknesses
Varnish: deep orange in color, later
Fingerboard: ebony, beveled under C string
Nut: ebony
Tailpiece: ebony
Tailgut: black, synthetic
Pegs: four ebony, one nonmatching ebony peg with varnished head and black painted eye
Saddle: ebony
Endpin: black painted hardwood with nickel plated steel and nickel plated brass hardware
F-holes: inside edges stained dark red, lower eyes notably oval, notches are steeply angled, lower wing channeled
