DescriptionDouble-flute made with two bamboo tubes held together at an angle with a support that is secured and covered with cotton string. Each tube is stopped near the blowing end with cork. An external duct is created on each tube by a blade of bamboo that is tied on at the blowing end and covers a short groove in the wall of the tube. The bamboo blade is woven between slits at each side of the goove. The blade and groove together direct air from the player's mouth against the sharp edge of a holecut into the tube at the bottom of the groove. Three fingerholes on each tube mostly spaced at equi-distance from each other. Fingerholes appear to have been created by being burned through and are located in a flattened area of the tube made by removal of a small strip of the top layer of the bamboo.

Flores is located in the eastern half of Indonesia and was known as one of the Lesser Sunda Islands. The name is Portuguese for "Flowers." Flores is the 10th most populous island of Indonesia.
