DescriptionA three-keyed oboe d'amore in fruitwood copied from NMM 4075 by Johann Wolfgang Kenigsperger, who worked in Roding, which is near Regensburg in Bavaria. Bulb-shaped bell. Pitched a minor third below the regular oboe, this instrument was particularly popular during the late Baroque era in Germany, where it was known as the hautbois d'amour. The instrument had a strong association with Leipzig, and Bach, Telemann, Graupner, and others wrote music scored for it.
