Bulb-shaped bell. Pitched a minor third below the regular oboe, this instrument was particularly popular during the late Baroque era in Germany, where it was known as the hautbois d'amour. The instrument had a strong association with Leipzig, and Bach, Telemann, Graupner, and others wrote music scored for it.DimensionsMeasurements exclude tenons and bocal.
