It is based on a model by the Sellas family of Venice.
Stringing: 14 courses; 7 single bass strings currently, set up for 7 bass double, 6 double courses, and single top string
Soundboard: two-piece quarter-cut spruce: narrow-to-medium grain; top extends 16 mm onto neck; ebony triangle with concave sides inlaid into top at lower edge
Bowl: 31 yew fluted staves divided by maple strips
Clasp: yew inlaid with four maple strips along bottom
Head: maple veneered in ebony on top, back and sides; upper pegbox with 13 pegs, lower pegbox with 14 pegs
Neck: veneered with ebony; two ebony pins through veneer into neck, one on each side, near bowl
Binding: ebony half-binding
Fingerboard: ebony with mammoth ivory strip inlaid down sides and at bottom; 9 tied gut frets; 3 ivory or bone frets inlaid into top
Nuts: mammoth ivory
Bridge: dark hardwood tie bridge with moustache, the top faced in ebony
Pegs: 19 boxwood pegs with integral pins
Rose: geometric, carved from top
Finish: clear varnish on bowl
