SignedEngraved on a heart-shaped, nickel-silver plate soldered to the bell: Scharf = Schützen / Comp: in Lauban / 18 48.DescriptionBrass with nickel-silver trim. Three Berlin piston valves. Third valve lowers pitch by 2 whole tones. Leadpipe tuning slide, and main tuning slide after 3rd valve. All valve tubings have tuning slides. Bottom bow guard with large, solid nickel-silver fin. Garland is engraved with different flowers, leaves, and acorns.
