DescriptionBamboo with tortoise shell or water buffalo horn utagachi (blowing edge insert). Four fingerholes plus thumbhole. Interior lacquered red. The utaguchi shape differs depending on the school of shakuhachi playing it comes from. The two main types are Kinko and Tozan.
