ProvenanceIn the 19th century the clavichord was part of the collection of Karl Haake, piano maker of Hannover, Germany. Before 1910 (?) it was owned by Prof. C. Matschoss (later, Director of the Deutsches Museum, Munich). On October 24, 1910, it was purchased by von Miller, along with the remainder of the Haake Collection, from Matschoss. The clavichord was given Deutsches Museum inventory no. 25901.

October 30, 1924. The clavichord was deaccessioned by the Deutsches Museum and was presented to Dr. Ing. Paul Reusch for his participation in the building of the Deutsches Museum.

Subsequently the clavichord was in the care of the Schlossgutes Katharinenhof, Station Oppenweiler, Württemberg. It was later privately owned for some time by a party in Göttingen and was on loan to the Unversity Museum in Göttingen until 1983 when it was purchased by the NMM from Bernhard von Hünerbein, Cologne, West Germany.
