DescriptionThis Dodd bow represents a late-18th century transitional model with hatchet-shaped head. While the form of the head is exaggerated, the craftsmanship is quite fine.

Stick: round; pernambuco; uneven faceting at handle
Head: hatchet shaped with extension on back; large nose; square outline to leading edge; rounded outline to back edge; T-mortise
Frog: ivory without slide; decoratively cut back edge
Adjuster: ivory
