DescriptionBoxwood body in four joints. One silver key (D#) with plain square key head, mounted in a turned ring. Ivory ferrules and headcap.
About 1745, Potter established his workshop after an apprenticeship with John Bickerton, a London turner, beginning in 1740. While perhaps best known for his innovative patent improvements of 1785, Potter's early skill is demonstrated in this example.
