Boxwood with brass trim.One of a set of instruments built for the Rožmberk Castle court ensemble, established in 1552 and enlarged during the following half century, of Český Krumlov, Bohemia. Rožmberk Castle inventories from 1599 and 1610 include not only basset recorders but also five Schreyerpfeife, bearing the same maker's mark, which are now in the Národní Muzeum, Prague.
