ProvenanceDonated by Robert Clark, Pilesgrove, New Jersey. The clarinet was kept in donor's family since at least about 1858. Part of donor's ancestors hail from North Attleboro, Massachusetts, which had train connection to Providence, Rhode Island. Donor has traced lineage and family history with details to that year and suspects clarinet was gifted to ancestor George Hawes.
