ProvenanceGift from Dr. E. E. Gardner to his wife, Julie Ann Waldo (donor’s great grandmother). After Gardner’s death, Julia married Daniel S. Waldo and went to the Dakota Territory in the early 1870’s, taking the Aeolian piano with them from their home in Michigan. Julia gave the instrument to her daughter, Blanche Waldo Kennedy, wife of C. B. Kennedy of Canton, South Dakota – it remained in Canton until 1972 when Patricia Moore moved it to Kewanee, Illinois (she is Julie Waldo’s great granddaughter). Later Moore moved it with her to Raleigh, North Carolina.
