DescriptionOne of a quartet of Kurt Dölling bows acquired by Lothar Meisel in 1975.

Brown, octagonal pernambuco stick
Mounted with a silver and tortoise-shell frog
Frog has a Parisian eye with mother-of-pearl in the center
Three-piece silver and ebony button
All the silver fittings are engraved with leaf patterns
ProvenanceKurt Dölling was related to the Meisels. His wife was Lothar Meisel's mother's cousin's daughter.

Purchased by Meisel Violins, Owatonna, Minnesota, from C. Meisel Music Co., Inc., New York, on April 7, 1975, for $2,234.08. According to a note from donor, "This quartett [sic] was in an intern. [sic] exhibition. Paris?-!---"
