Intended for the performance of baroque works, the main characteristic of this high D trumpet model is the placement of the main tuning slide to the right of the third valve loop (from the player’s perspective). This model was also produced by other German firms, such as Oskar Ullmann in Leipzig and Gebrüder Alexander in Mainz. Wilhelm Monke trained with his father Josef Monke (1882-1865) and set up his own workshop in Cologne in 1945.
