DescriptionBrass, German silver, S-shaped first loop followed by oval bell, tuning slide at first bow, three rotary valves (1, ½, 1½), horseshoe stop, clock-spring return.
This oval flugelhorn was listed as "Flugelhorn no. 28" in August Clemens Glier's Sonderliste P from about 1926. It is the same model as the "Trompete no. 17 ½" (see: NMM 6956), except that it has proper flugelhorn propotions with a wider bore and conical main tuning slide. However, the address Neue Str. 88, dates the instrument to a much earlier, before 1898 when the number was changed to Neue Str. 107, an address that existed until 1932.
