DescriptionBrass, polished and lacquered, nickel-silver (ferrules, finger hooks and rings, water keys, finger buttons, valve caps and upper valve part), single loop, main tuning slide at first bow (two alternatives for D and C), three Périnet valves (1, ½, 1½), top-sprung, spring inside hollow stem, alignment by two unequal lugs on spring anchor plate, nickel-silver-plated brass pistons, single water key at main tuning slides, trigger with thumb hook at first valve and with pull ring and stop rod at third valve, windway 3-2-1.

Stradivarius Model 236 stands for the standard bell taper for trumpet model D180 in D, with optional slides for C. Bach characterized the D180 trumpet as follows: A brilliant tone that blends well with voices and strings makes this model effective in oratorio, opera, and high register symphonic repertory. Bell 236 is described as "tight and bright."
