Stamped on valve casings, caps and pistons, respectively: 1, 2, 3DescriptionLeft-handed set-up, silver-plated brass, mother-of-pearl finger buttons, double loop in unaligned S-formation, quick-change to A with stop rod (first bow), main tuning slide (second bow), removable leadpipe (shank), three Périnet valves (1, ½, 1½), top-sprung, spring outside stem, alignment by one key on piston (nickel-plated brass), pistons of three different lengths: short (third valve), medium (first valve), long (second valve), single water key (quick change), double water key with long handle (for both branches of main tuning slide), windway 1-3-2.Silver-plated brass tuning shank for B-flat.
The winday and valve construction follows U.S. patent no. 670,365, applied for by Ferdinand A. Buescher of Elkhart, Indiana, on October 20, 1900, and granted March 19, 1901. The present instrument follows this patent in every detail, except that it is a mirror image of it, set up for a left-handed person.
