DescriptionGerman silver (body), copper (bell), one bow, telescopic tuning slide with gear adjustment at leadpipe, three top-action string-operated rotary valves (1, ½, 1½), stop arm, flat-spring return.

Instrument resembles E-flat cornet, no. 7, “3 Valves, bell over the shoulder, medium size, intended expressly for Brass Bands” in Isaac Fiske’s 'Illustrated Catalogue of Musical Instruments' from 1861.
