DescriptionBrass, mother-of-pearl finger buttons, single loop, main tuning slide at first bow, three Périnet valves (1, ½, 1½), top-sprung, spring inside hollow stem, alignment by two unequal lugs on spring anchor plate, nickel-silver-plated brass pistons, single water key at main tuning slide, trigger with pull ring and stop rod at third valve, windway 3-2-1.
This trumpet was made during Elden E. Benge’s early career in Chicago, while he was playing trumpet in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. In this period, Benge spelled out his name in staff notation with treble clef in the signature. According to Benge's son Donald, "Resno-Tempered" means the process of hammering and annealing the one-piece bell into shape, as specified and practiced by his father.
