DescriptionAlthough this instrument is made of plastic, it is not a toy! These full-size trumpets were developed and patented in 1943 by Josephus Thompson and Morton S. Brockman (Cleveland), assignors to the Grossman Music Company. Later marketed by the Trophy Products Co. (Cleveland) to music educators for use by their students, the plastic trumpet sold for $39.50 through the very early 1950s. Very few have survived, due to the fragility of the plastic as it ages.
