DescriptionThis Fender Bullet Bass has an exceptionally short scale, with only 26″ of vibrating string length, rather than the standard 34″ for the Precision Bass. Fender introduced the Bullet Bass in 1982 as a student instrument, and in the next couple years transferred manufacturing to Fender Japan. Instead of being stenciled with the model name on the headstock, it says only Fender ELECTRIC BASS. There is no serial number. This bass was acquired by the donor while stationed at Yokota Air Base near Tokyo. While the extremely short scale makes the bass ideal for young players learning the bass, the Bullet model also has a following among adult players who enjoy the good playing characteristics and tone for such a compact instrument.
