DescriptionBrass, German silver, single loop, tuning slide at first bow, three rotary valves (1, ½, 1½), horseshoe stop, Leipzig spiral-spring return.

Heinrich Moritz Schuster’s shop was founded in 1871 as string instrument maker and dealer in Markneukirchen. By 1890-1891, Schuster was among the leading masters of the “vogtländische Blasinstrumentenmacher-Innung,” the local wind-instrument-maker’s guild. The wording in the signature dates this trumpet to a time after December 21, 1906, when the firm changed its name to Musikhaus Heinr. Moritz Schuster, and 1913, when brass instrument production was terminated.
